CIBC agrees to settle over Enron allegation

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce has agreed to pay $80 million and adopt 'sweeping reforms' as part of a series of settlements with the US and Canadian regulators over allegations the bank aided and abetted the massive accounting fraud at Enron Corporation. The SEC is one of the four regulators to strike settlements with CIBC over the bank's financial dealings with the disgraced energy trader.
