Battered Laidlaw takes $1.39-billion writedown
Article Abstract:
Burlington, Ont.-based Laidlaw Inc. will take a $1.39 billion writedown related to its waste removal and health care operations. Laidlaw, which owns Columbia, SC-based Safety-Kleen Corp., reported a loss of $1.46 billion in the quarter ended Feb. 29, 2000.
