In August 1999, Imperial Mining paid $500,000 for an initial 5% interest in the internet search engine Catcha.com and in Sept 1999 paid another $2.5mil for another 8% with the option to buy more at the same price in the future. Catcha.com has the largest directory of Asian-sourced web sites in South East Asia and plans to expand into Thailand, Hong Kong and the Philippines.
