Cisco still hopeful for deal, but talks with Nortel stalled

The talks between two of the world's largest communications equipment makers, Cisco Systems Inc. and Nortel Networks Corp. have not borne any entity since Cisco's Chief Executive Officer raised the issue. Both equipment companies are developing strategies to win business in the rapidly emerging markets of China and India.
