Cisco warning shakes markets

San Jose, Calif.-based Cisco Systems Inc., which is led by president and chief executive officer John Chambers, has issued a warning to investors that it will miss its 2001 third quarter earnings forecast. Cisco, which has been hurt by declining demand for its telecommunications equipment, said its 2001 third quarter revenues would fall by thirty percent.
