Electronic commerce is changing the way companies advertise and market their products to emphasize communication and dialogue between retailer and customer. Building a relationship with the customer and tracking personal statistics is key to maintaining customer trust and loyalty. In 1999, A$40 mil were spent on internet advertising, and it is expected to increase to $160 mil in 2000.
