Corel chiefs brace to fight bid

Corel Corp, the graphics software company based in Ottawa, Ontario, is rumored to be a takeover target of rival Adobe Systems Inc of San Jose, CA. Sources say Corel executives had a meeting with external advisers to map a strategy in case Adobe launches a hostile bid. Research conducted by Canadian investment fund players has lend credence to the rumors, saying it would be make sense for Adobe to acquire Corel, which has a market capitalization of C$412.9 million.
