Vivendi, the French utilities and media conglomerate, has received approval for its acquisition of Canada's Seagram Company Ltd., the entertainment and liquor giant, from the European Commisission. Vivendi made key concessions including sale of its stake in Sky Broadcasting Group of the United Kingdom.
