Executive cites 'character assassination'
Article Abstract:
Financial services holding company First Marathon Inc of Toronto has been charged by formed executive DeWolf Shaw for alleged character assassination. Shaw said First Marathon invaded his privacy rights when it released to the media a detailed response to his charges of AIDS discrimination. The complaint was before the Quebec labor standards commission and the Quebec human rights commission.

Regulators to work out standards
Article Abstract:
Canada's financial services industry regulators are attempting to create joint standards for corporate personnel training and consumer information disclosure. The new standards are being formulated by the Joint Forum of Financial Market Regulators.

National dispute system planned

The Canadian Securities Administration is backing a national dispute resolution system for the securities industry. The plan, which is supported by the Ontario Securities Commission will include an ombudsman position.
