Many livestock issues, including federal funding for conservation programs, are on the agenda as Congress prepares to reauthorize farm programs in 2007. Organic-farming advocates require more funding for research, education and extension services focused on organic issues and also for research on alterative methods that could help diversify the U.S. agriculture.
