Nearly half of all Canadians in the 25-34 age bracket report that they will make contributions to registered retirement savings plans (RRSPs) for 1994. The increase in RRSP participation among younger people is in part due to fears that governmental pension programs will be insolvent by the time they retire.

The Bank of Canada has around 950,000 dormant accounts with $142 million in assets. People who think they may have unclaimed funds can contact the bank and do a search for free, or they can visit Found Money International Inc's Internet site and do a low-cost search.
