Phone still rules takeout
Article Abstract:
E-meals or meal takeouts through the Internet are still relatively unpopular to consumers as compared with takeouts by telephone. E-meals take a small portion of the American diet, with less than $20 million spent on online orders in 1998. The cold reception to online ordering is attributed to its inconvenience as opposed to ordering by phone. Also, there are instances of late deliveries or lost orders.
