Future of Catholic Church: Turmoil in Poland
Article Abstract:
Poland's Catholic Church made significant efforts to fight communism, however, in 2007, it is revealed that the priests worked as informers for the secret services in the Soviet puppet government that ruled the country from 1944 to 1989. Such a discovery hampered the planned appointment of a new archbishop and forced the resignation of another senior churchman, ultimately affecting the pope's credibility.
