Saturn vote another strike vs. GM
Article Abstract:
General Motors' Saturn car facility's workers voted overwhelmingly to authorize a walkout if talks over contract disputes with the United Auto Workers cannot be settled. However, analysts believe an eight-year-old partnership between GM and Spring Hill, TN-based UAW will prevent such an occurrence. Saturn, the last US GM facility still operating, is expected to become the UAW's latest weapon in fighting for its reforms. The problems in Saturn is related to GM's globalization drive, said UAW vice president Richard Shoemaker.

GM workers threaten more walkouts
Article Abstract:
General Motors Corp. may be facing more walkouts in the future as a result of its disagreement with the United Auto Workers (UAW) union over jobs. Union workers have instigated a strike at Flint Metal Center and Delphi East parts facility in Flint, MI, that almost stalled the automaker's production capacity and idled over 122,000 workers. The UAW has stated that workers are not backing down from their effort to prevent GM from expanding internationally while cutting down production capacity at home.
