Globe circulation strong and rising despite new rival, annual audit shows
Article Abstract:
Globe and Mail has posted an average daily circulation, from Monday to Saturday, of 330,679 copies in 1998, up by 2.96% from 321,166 in 1997. More than half of the newspapers' daily circulation, 168,401 copies, came from subscriptions. The Globe reported strongest circulation growth in Alberta and British Columbia, where it boosted its investments in editorial and production. However, circulation dippsed slightley in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon, and the Northwest Territories.

New twist in newspaper war as British dailies go tabloid
Article Abstract:
The Times of London, the most legendary of broadsheets has won itself several new readers and has grown by almost 5 percent by abandoning its traditions entirely and turning itself into a full-fledged tabloid. As a result almost all the remaining broadsheet newspaper editors in London are considering changing itself into small, commuter friendly tabloid format, which seems to be a popular product.
