Go figure: What's good stock market news? Bad news on the job front
Article Abstract:
The economists predicted an increase of 15000 jobs in the US, however, only 146,000 jobs were generated which was much below the 200,000 jobs-plus experts were looking for. Stocks of both Canada and America went up despite the fall in the economy, which has prompted the world's central banks to back further away from rate acceleration.

The best surprise in earnings season is no surprise
Article Abstract:
The report of the stock markets third-quarter 2004 earnings have not reported spectacular results as those in 2003. The results have not disappointed as well and in fact are coming a bit higher than many experts had feared.
