HealthSouth's Former Chief Is Expected To Be Indicted

The Dept. of Justice will announce its indictment of former HealthSouth Corp. CEO Richard M. Scrushy for securities fraud, inflated profits and other illegal financial transactions that led to his dismissal from the surgical chain company. These include conspiracy, money laundering, and false information under oath in financial reports. Both the DOJ and the SEC are charging HealthSouth with a total of $2.45 billion in accounting fraud.
