Apple reports earnings gain but disappointing sales
Article Abstract:
Apple Computer reported third-quarter earnings of $163 million, up from $114 million in the same quarter a year ago. However, sales were lower than had been expected, coming in at $1.83 billion, higher than last year's $1.56 billion, but not meeting analysts' expectations of $1.9 billion. The shortfall was attributed to 50,000 fewer sales of iMacs than had been forecast.
