Bargain-priced burials: new retailers are selling caskets for far less than the rates charged by traditional funeral homes

Traditional funeral homes often charge as much as 500% markup on caskets, but new budget retailers are offering lower-priced caskets direct to consumers. Caskets Direct Inc plans to market to Canadian consumers. Since deregulation in the US, 160 casket retailers have opened.
