Hotels hope you cotton to new fabrics
Article Abstract:
Hotels are using higher-quality bedding, linens, towels and upholstery in guest rooms, dining rooms and lobbies to impress sophisticated guests. Starwood Hotels and Resort plans to use 100% Scalamandre silk. Also, many Omni hotels are getting better upholstery as part of a $500- million renovation program. In May 2001, Holiday Inn introduced three contemporary-style guest room design packages for its franchisees. Other hotels joining the trend include the Franklin Hotel and the Hotel Wales in New York, NY, which use white 100% combed Egyptian cotton sheets and pillowcases, as well as Ritz-Carlton, which is introducing Italian Frette linen napkins and tablecloths at its hotels.
