How to improve your grades by checking your style of learning
Article Abstract:
Learning Styles, $39.95 from Education Information Systems, is educational software that helps determine an individual's learning style and best times of day for learning by evaluating the user's responses to a series of statements regarding various learning conditions. The package also includes a module that allows the individual to evaluate strengths and weaknesses of a specific instructor. It is available in both MS-DOS and Macintosh versions. Calendar Wise is a shareware desktop accessory from Blue Cannon Software. The scheduling software is also available from several bulletin boards. The requested registration fee is $25. Calendar Wise allows several possible views, including 4-, 5-, and 8-week periods; recurring dates need only be entered once. Software publisher Amaze offers electronic versions of both Gary Larson's 'Far Side' and Cathy Guisewite's 'Cathy' calendars. Ed Hall has written a screen saver program for the Macintosh that may be included in a future release of Berkeley System's After Dark package. Hall's program, triggered after a specified length of inactivity, makes the Macintosh screen resemble a DOS screen, including displaying a C: prompt and apparently executing DOS commands.
