An Angus Reed Group poll reveals that Americans and Canadians feel very differently from one another about social, political, and religious issues. The survey results, entitled 'God and Society in North America,' were based on the responses of 3,000 Canadian and 3,000 American adults.

Trial and error: should murder defendants testify?

Defense lawyers consider many factors before taking the risky move of calling a defendant to the witness stand. Some defendants do more harm than good to their cases by testifying. Juries usually respond better to good-looking, intelligent defendants.
