Inflation hits 12-year high

The Bank of Canada is under growing pressure from financial sectors to increase interest rates as energy prices contributed to a 4.6% inflation rate in February. The inflation rate, which is the highest in twelve years, was reported by Statistics Canada.

Inflation rate retreats; spurs chance of September rate cut
Article Abstract:
A new report from Statistics Canada showed that prices for beef and cars dropped as prices for air transportation and gasoline rose. Canada's rate of inflation dropped 2.2% in July, which may trigger a further cut in interest rates.
