Investors Group posts record profit

Investors Group Inc., a mutual fund company headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, has posted C$50.4 million in profits in the third quarter of 1998, a record 25.1% improvement from profits of C$40.3 million during the same period in 1997. The firm also managed to register revenues amounting to C$238.6 million in the quarter ending Sept. 30, 1998, as opposed to C$214.7 million in revenues in the third quarter of 1997. The investment company attributes its improved financial performance to the competence of its staff and workforce as well as to its efforts to maintain operations costs at manageable levels.
