Disney bets on new anaheim 'Adventure'

Article Abstract:

Walt Disney is opening a second theme park in Anaheim, CA, on Feb 8, 2001, just a few hundred feet away from the original Disneyland. The new park is the cornerstone of a five-year program to beautify Anaheim in what Disney claims to be the longest and most intense development project that it has ever conducted. Anaheim is working with Disney on the project in an unprecedented public-private partnership that involves tearing up traffic- clogged roads, building grand boulevards and taking down neon signs and installing new ones on motels, shops and restaurants. They've have also infused the area around Disneyland with luscious landscaping with 15,000 bushes and trees.
