Juicy profits expected from Canada's oil patch

Edmonton-based Chieftain International Inc. has reported record profits of $28.3 million and cash flow of $71.7 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2001. Chieftan, which is a mid-sized oil and gas producer, has benefited from high prices for natural gas and crude oil.

Crestar, Gulf results soar
