Managers cement control of Alliance

Four Alliance Atlantis Communications Corp senior executives, including CEO Michael MacMillan, have increased their stake in the Toronto, Ontario- based entertainment company to 54.5% from 47.9%. The deal came a week after CanWest Global Communications Corp of Winnipeg, Manitoba, has boosted its voting stake in the company to 20.6%. The executives said they bought more shares to retain effective control over the company.
