Indonesia warned in Manulife case

World Bank unit International Finance Corp. (IFC) has sent a formal warning to the Indonesian government. The IFC said that police investigations into Canadian company Manulife Financial Corp.'s investments could damage foreign investors' image of Indonesia and its ability to enact financial reforms.

Manulife may need to put cash into venture with troubled partner

Manulife to acquire Daihyaku business
Article Abstract:
Manufacturers Life Insurance Co. (Manulife) has reached an agreement to acquire Daihyaku Mutual Life Insurance Co. of Japan. As part of the deal, Manulife will assume the insolvent Daihyaku's balance sheet deficit, worth approximately C$2 billion.
