Marleau goes out with a bang
Article Abstract:
Marleau Lemire Inc. is moving its headquarters from Montreal, Canada, to Toronto, Canada, as well as changing its name to Peelbrooke Capital Inc. as part of its "rebirth." The plans were approved by shareholders during the company's annual meeting, along with the election of a new slate of five directors. Marleau Lemire Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Renaud said the firm is implementing the phase 2 of its redeployment plan, which includes seeking investments with hidden or latent value for Marleau Lemire's remaining C$27 million in cash.

National regulator may be needed: ME chief
Article Abstract:
A single federal securites regulator in Canada must be formed if the provincial securities commissions fail to agree on how to regulate the three proposed national exchanges. Under the specialization plan, the Montral Exchange would take over all the derivative trading in Canada, the Toronto Stock Exchange will become the center for blue-chip stocks, while the merged Vancouver and Calgary exchange will handle junior issues. However, the regional securities commission could not agree on a system to jointly regulate the proposed national exchanges.
