Merging exhanges select new name
Article Abstract:
The merger of the Alberta and Vancouver stock exchanges will result in a new entity to be called Canadian Venture Exchange. The new name was chosen in view of the combined exchange's Canada-wide operations and its objective to offer capital access to venture companies with small capitalization. While the start-up date for the new exchange is scheduled for Nov 15, it will still need the approval of members and the Alberta government. A steering committee is reconciling rule differences which are still in effect in both exchanges.
