Microscopic mystery: a tiny parasite takes the blame in a health scare

Health authorities speculate that the tiny parasite cyclospora may be responsible for the recent outbreak of intestinal illnesses that affected around 1,000 people in Canada and the US. The parasite may be present in berries, but researchers have not yet confirmed the link.
