Microsoft split ordered: will breakup help or hurt consumers?
Article Abstract:
Microsoft Corp's court-ordered breakup will either invigorate the software industry or create additional problems for consumers depending on which side is asked to comment on the ruling by US District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson. Prosecutors are of the opinion that the split will promote a more competitive industry while Microsoft officials, who vowed to appeal the ruling, contend that the punishment is tantamount to a death sentence for Microsoft.

Microsoft gutted him, but he's back
Article Abstract:
Marc Andreessen, the high-technology whiz kid who was the creator of the navigator, the first commercial Web browser and the co-founder of Nescape Communications has decided to work for Microsoft again. He will be endorsing Microsoft's sweeping new Internet strategy with joiint sales, marketing and licensing efforts. This move comes in the wake of the antitrust case against Microsoft which involved a note from him suggesting illegal collusion with the firm in 1995. Andreessen declares that it is business between him and Microsoft, not personal.
