Article Abstract:
Troops and equipment from the Townsville-based 1st Royal Australian Regiment are likely to spearhead an elaborate federal-state emergency relief plan for the victims of Cyclone Larry. Well before the cyclone struck the north Queensland, helicopters were on standby to deliver emergency relief, and troops and military equipment would be used as part of coordinated effort with state emergency services to deliver medical assistance and provide shelter for the victims.
