Conventional medical practitioners are integrating the methods of alternative medical practitioners. Conventional practitioners believe alternative results must be supported by evidence. Pharmaceutical companies are adding herbs to their product lines. A philosophical difference still divides the two types of practitioners. Conventional medicine treats the symptom. Alternative medicine treats the cause.

Tim Freedman has established himself as a successful musician without relying on any big record companies. His band, The Whitlams, are signed with the independent label The Black Yak and all the revenue goes to the artists. Freedman writes confessional lyrics and the tragedies of his life including the suicide of former band member have become melancholic ballads.
