New strategy in Iraq: The issues
Article Abstract:
The U.S. has sent additional troops to Iraq in order to quell sectarian violence and to train Iraqi police and Army effectively before a withdrawal plan is implemented. Critics however, are questioning whether the troop surge will help in bringing peace to Iraq, when it is doubtful if the Iraq government will attempt to meet the conditions set by the U.S. for withdrawal of American troops.

Article Abstract:
The invasion of Iraq by the U.S.-led forces has resulted in the emergence of insurgents against the U.S. Although some insurgents were supporters of the deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, the major insurgency operations are being carried out by the militia of Moqtada-al-Sadr, a Shiite who is opposed to the presence of U.S. troops in Iraq.

New strategy in Iraq: Jihadists emerge
Article Abstract:
The Iraq War presented unforeseen consequences, where the U.S. and allied forces were attacked by both Sunnis and Shiites. However, a major outcome was jihadist attacks of Sunnis against Shiites and their shrines in order to draw them into violence that would escalate into a civil war and lead to a possible U.S. withdrawal from Iraq.
