One man's plan to plug talent drain
Article Abstract:
Graduates from Canadian unversities should be made to work for at least four years in Canada or pay back any subsidies provided for their education if they want to work outside Canada, said John Kelly, CEO fo JetForm Cor. That way, the shortage of skilled workers in Canada's high-tech industries will be addressed, said Kelly. Though Canadian high-tech companies, particularly in the Ottawa region, provide generous salaries and benefits, they are not enough to stem the exodus of professionals to the south, noted Kelly.
