PMC-Sierra buys Abrizio

Networking equipment chip maker PMC-Sierra Inc of Burnaby, British Columbia, has acquired Abrizio Inc of Mountain View, CA, for $427 million in stock. PMC-Sierra, which has a market capitalization of C$46.2 billion manufucturs networking chips used to increase the speed and performance of the Internet. Abrizio produces chips ised in high-speed equipment such as routers and switches.
