Plan Offered To Overhaul Fuel Rules For Vehicles
Article Abstract:
A report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows what the Bush administration is considering to help change fuel economy standards. There may be more specific categories for light trucks dependent on weight and size classes. The report also suggests that SUVs weighing over 6,000 lbs. would be regulated for the first time. The administration is hesitant to predict that changes in fuel efficiency regulations will reduce fuel consumption.
