The Liberal-National Party Coalition caused its own defeat in the New South Wales Election in Apr, 1999, by replacing its leaders with 2 previously low-profile politicians only 4 months before election day. Electricity privatization was a major issue in the election, but the proponents of privatization failed to mention the recent falling revenues in the industry.
