Pratt rejoins the job hunting trail

Executive search firm Caldwell Partners International Inc. of Toronto, Canada, has named Anne Fawcett to replace Courtney Pratt as president, who resigned in Mar 1999 after only six months in the job. Pratt, the former chairman and president of Noranda Inc., said that he resigned because things did not work out as he had hoped. Pratt was asked to become a president by Anne Fawcett in Sep 1998.

Onex Corp Chairman and CEO Gerald Schwartz is in the news again for leading a C$1.8-billion takeover bid of troubled Canadian Airlines International Ltd. He wants to merge Canadian Airlines with its competitor Air Canada, which does not agree with the agreement. There are times the 57-year-old buyout artist is confused with his near-namesake, the 58-year- old economist Gerald Swartz.
