Priscilla de Villiers: an advocate for life

de Villiers lived a quiet life as a physician's wife until her daughter was murdered in Aug 1991. She then formed Canadians Against Violence Everywhere Advocating its Termination (CAVEAT) as a way to cope with her grief and lobby for tougher laws. She is also an accomplished landscape painter.

A walk on the wild side: Laura Secord warned the British of an American attack
Article Abstract:
Laura Secord walked 30 kilometers to warn British soldiers that a band of Americans would attack them during the War of 1812. Secord lived on the British side of the Niagara River. The battle that resulted became known as the Battle of Beaver Dams.
