Privacy advocates have warned that the growing access to huge amounts of personal data is eliminating the concept of personal privacy and hence the Democratic Congress is expected and is considering various options to take stronger action to protect personal data. However, with computer databases and electronic-surveillance technology evolving rapidly, some lawmakers and privacy advocates question Congress' options on making warrantless wiretapping easier and criminalizing pretexting.
