Retailers brace to battle Sam's Club

Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world's single largest retailer would bring its Sam's Club warehouses stores to Canada in October 2003, which has forced some food retailers to lower prices, bolster operations and cut lower wages from employees. This would provide Costco Wholesale Canada with its first direct competitor in the low-priced sector.
