Shaw picks up cable TV systems in southern B.C. and Alberta

Medicine Hat, Alta.-based Monarch Cablesystems Ltd. will sell its cable television assets in Alberta and British Columbia to Shaw Communications Inc. The deal, which is valued at about $90 million, will add 35,000 subscribers to Shaw Communications' cable television network.
