Napster must rid itself of copyright songs
Article Abstract:
Napster, in a US federal court hearing on Mar 6, 2001, has been given 72 hours to block each song that will appear on a list to be provided by the recording industry. The court injunction follows the company's voluntary efforts, announced on Mar 5, 2001, to block songs in an effort to shift into a pay-subscription service. The injunction, seen as an endorsement of what Napster is already doing, allows the company to continue operations.
