Sizing up the nest egg
Article Abstract:
People investing for retirement need to know how much they need to accumulate. Michael Hutton, partner with accounting firm HLB Mann Judd, suggests a person over 45 multiply their age by the average income of the past 2 years, including investment income but excluding inheritance. This amount is divided by 10, giving the amount of retirement savings the person should already have accumulated.
