Starnet seen as test of on-line gambling
Article Abstract:
Starnet Communications International Inc faces criminal charges after Canadian police raided its offices in Vancouver, British Columbia, and the homes of six employees. Company officials say the raid was prompted by the company's move into online gambling, even as the company was also involved in on-line pornography. Canadian securities regulators, meanwhile, are interested in what charges will be filed against Starnet, which is only one of six publicly traded Canadian companies involved in online gambling.
