The Australian stock market is riding a wave and touched its all-time high during the first week of June 2004 but investors are still wary about any long-term investments in the market. Financial markets are nervous about this stock-market recovery because the economic recovery has happened because of low-interest rates due to which carry trade, where short-term funds are borrowed on low rates and invested in high-risk long-term securities offering a higher return, has boomed.
