The summer of 1993 is drawing to a close, and people need to turn their attention away from dinosaurs movies and baseball games and focus on the political situation in Canada. It is more important to deliberate the role of politicians than to endlessly speculate on the fate of the dinosaur.

The next step: kill political debates
Article Abstract:
Leaders' debates should be abolished in Canada because they distract the candidates from discussing the important issues and because a candidates' debate performance cannot predict how well the candidate could govern the country. Additional reasons for abolishing debates are discussed.

There has been a shift within popular culture towards more individuality and respect for fringe positions. This may be desirable in the social arena, but it is causing harm in the political sphere. Parties are abandoning centrists positions in favor of ideological extremes.
