Swissair: Pilot tactics queried
Article Abstract:
Investigation of the Swissair 111 passenger plane that crashed off Peggys Cove, Nova Scotia 2 years ago revealed the plane was still flyable in spite of the electrical fire aboard. However, the pilots did not land the plane immediately and instead chose to first dump fuel over the Atlantic Ocean, a choice which probably led to a loss of control and disaster.
